Fun things to do with terrible Yes on 8 commercials

The not-so-bright individuals who put this humiliating (for them) commercial together used a green-screen. So there’s a lot of fun to be had and I expect we’ll see more people coming up with clever ways to reconfigure this NOM (National Organization for Marriage) ad.

Someone should tell the American Spectator that it looks kinda gay

From Wonkette:

Well, I’m certainly against gay marriage now

You totally convinced me with your super-awesome ad with scary lightning. I don’t want gay marriage if it means it’s gonna rain on me.

A note from Vermont

I pulled this off of Sullivan’s blog. I thought it worth sharing:
It’s snowing right now. There are so many things about this place that never cease to amaze me. Snow in April is one. The decency of so many people is another. My partner and I awakened this morning, resigned to what we felt was [...]

When will courting the “gay dollar” bypass homophobia?

Not anytime soon if the Atlantic Coast Conference has anything to do with it. There’s a story today titled “ACC Reluctant to Acknowledge Lesbian Fans” in the Greensboro News and Record:
On Friday, 13,599 fans watched UNC’s quarterfinal victory over Clemson. The crowd was a mix you’d never see at the more-exclusive ACC men’s tournament: children [...]

Ted Haggard: Saddest Guy Ever

King: Were these feelings about men, were these feelings that you had for a long time?
Haggard: Well, the first I remember them is in high school. And — but I never acted on them. I married Gayle in college. It was a wonderful relationship with Gayle through the years. And — but I would, I’d [...]

Maybe Larry King is right about that whole lesbians ruling the world thing

Well, Iceland at least. They’ve appointed the worlds first openly gay leader, says Gawker:
Even as their country plummets down the geyser hole, Icelanders are still awfully nice to gay people. They’ve appointed an out-and-proud lesbian to be their interim Prime Minister, a world first the papers say.
You may remember that when the country initially went [...]

If we all sing the same note in the choir, we’d never have harmony

Ellen calls Gladys and gets some well wishes and words of wisdom on her recent marriage to Portia De Rossi.

Prop 8 fight continues in California

From the San Fransisco Chronicle:

In thousands of pages, the combatants in the Proposition 8 fight have made their case to the state Supreme Court.
The briefs are all in, from sponsors and opponents of the ballot measure banning same-sex marriage and their far-flung allies - organizations as mainstream as the AFL-CIO and the California Catholic Conference [...]
