From Edge Magazine, a piece that notes how, throughout the coverage of his unfortunate passing, there was little mention of Walter Cronkite’s support of same-sex marriage rights. His stance represents one that came from rationality, reason, and a belief in the freedom and liberty we all deserve.
He was an advocate for the separation of church and state. And in this capacity, he came out squarely against the Defense of Marriage Act and tacitly for the right of gay Americans to marry.
